Therapeutic Massage
Sessions at Haven blend a variety of massage modalities that work effectively to reduce pain and unlock patterns of holding and release the manifestation of stress in the body. Treatment plans are curated by carefully listening to the needs of the individual and tuning in to what the body is presenting. Practitioners at Haven are all experienced and specialized in other forms of bodywork, so their style is influenced by the focus of their practice. CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
The CranioSacral system is made up of the protective layers of connective tissue and the cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the central nervous system. CST releases tension and restrictions within this system, which can have positive effects on many aspects of one’s health. CST is a gentle therapy using a light touch, designed to prevent guarding and release stored injuries and emotions by tapping in to the body’s self-healing nature. Treatments can be structural in nature for healing from things like concussion or postural holding patterns, but when an emotional element is involved, we recommend reading more on SER.
SomatoEmotional Release (SER)
Using advanced CranioSacral techniques (gentle hands-on therapy) to support the nervous system, in combination with verbal cues and dialogue, SER allows clients to process physical and emotional pain or trauma that has been lodged in the body. This work does not require a re-experiencing of a painful incident, but rather offers a way to allow our nervous system to fully process what may be lingering in the tissues and find it’s way out of the body. Acupuncture
The ancient art of acupuncture comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine, inserting needles into the body’s meridian system to balance and restore qi (life force energy) and prevent disharmony within body, mind and spirit. Additional more modern styles of acupuncture such as trigger-point or dry needling for muscular release are also used as needed. Sessions include thorough consultation and review of health history, acupuncture needling as well adjunctive care like acupressure or cupping as needed. Your practitioner may offer lifestyle or exercise recommendations to assist clients in achieving health care goals.
Arvigo® Therapy
The Arvigo® techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage are a non-invasive method of correcting the position of abdominal organs that have shifted due to injury, time, and other causes, helping the body to restore it’s natural balance and energy. Using gentle repositioning massage to guide reproductive and abdominal organs back to their proper position, Arvigo practitioners help to correct misalignment and remove pelvic and abdominal restrictions. Additionally, clients are taught home self-care massage, which empowers clients to continue and enhance the benefits gained with their practitioner. Read more about Arvigo Therapy.
