IFS-Informed Manual Somatic Therapy is a form of bodywork rooted in CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and utilizes the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model to assist clients in somato-emotional processing. This modality, created by our practice director, is for clients who have specific interest in or prior experience with IFS or other forms or parts work. IFS is a therapeutic method able to be applied in a wide variety of health care settings as its goal is to help people to connect more to their authentic selves through working with distinct parts of their personality. You can read more about IFS via the IFS Institute, or the book by the founder of IFS, No Bad Parts.
IFS-i MST sessions are structured as both IFS-informed coaching off the table, as well as hands-on bodywork with IFS-informed dialogue on the table. While the hands-on portion of the work is focused on our nervous system with CST to reach the root of patterns stuck in our tissue, this bodywork includes other techniques as needed such as acupressure, trigger-point release, cupping, movement instruction and other methods of processing somatically with our Self and our parts. This modality is neither massage or talk therapy, but a gentle hands-on form of somatic processing.
If interested in scheduling, a phone consultation is required with Dawn prior to booking.
